Yes, the powder is sweet up on the Skyline, and the avalanche danger on Sunday was high. Today it is considerable. Large cornices have developed (everyone likes to huck their meat off) and there is a bunch of snow below them. One thing I noticed was that the cornices were overhanging and reactive...breaking widespread. If you go out this holiday week, start small and think big.
For those of you who have not practiced with your beacons, there is a Beacon Training Park at the Big Drift South parking lot, west side. The reason you go is to make sure that your buddy knows how to find YOU. Beacon #7 is broken, just follow the instructions and tell me what you think.
The area is quite large...150 yards by 150 yards and the control panel is actually inside this area. Good luck!
