Splitting case while motor is in sled

Is it possible to split the case while the motor is still in the sled. It's on a 09 summit x. I took the pto seal out to grease the bearing and didn't realize you had to split the case to get the new seal back in.

You can put the seal back in. Get a piece of plastic pipe the same diameter as the outer part of the seal. Gently tap in as straight and square as possible.

Tried that, used the primary clutch bolt to press it back in but it won't pop in. I can't remember how far it went in. Does the seal sit flush with the case?

I never pressed one in, always popped it in with a pipe and rubber mallet. It sits fairly flush. You'll know when its in. You do not want to split the case, let alone in the sled.
