Truckee Ca,
So here are some pics of my 07 M1000 green machine, ya if you cut me i bleed green!! I just finished up installing the BDX Pro Lite Bumper kit on it!!!!

The kit was pretty easy to install, and the new up dated re inforcement plates are definately ROBUS, I think at 1/8th inch thick, you will be pretty hard pressed to bend the plates or the tunnel!!!

So tomorrow's project is to rip into my DD again and change out the bearing that is so prone to failure!!! I guess i am very lucky with 822 miles on the ticker and no exsplosion yet!!!!!:face-icon-small-sho then i can get down to polishing the tunnel again!!

Supposed to be getting a snow storm this weeknd, maybe we will get lucky and get enough snow too be able to do a little trail riding!!

...your sled looks very nice but I'm concerned you will have cracking issues with your tunnel in that gap you have between your bumper and the running board. It's very important to have the bumper tied into the running board when doing either the 09 cat, BDX bumper. BDX's fix was to add plates inside the tunnel in this area.

Guys...do not cut your running boards short of the bumper!

I added 1/4 x 2 x 10 long aluminum plates inside. Plenty strong. Yes, ideally I would have liked the bumper to come all the way up but I think this is just as strong.

Where The Rear Bumper Mounts Just Over The Running Boards - Drill Out The Exsisting Rivet For The Rear Skid Attaching Bracket - Then Use Those Exsisting Holes For Attaching The Bumper - Really Adds Strength On The Very End Over The Running Boards

Also Guys With The 05/06 And I think 07 Sleds - The Running Board Edges Where Those Gussets Attach To - Your Just Better Off Buying The Newer Style Edges For A Better Fit - Or Else Plan On Alot Of Grinding Etc. To Get Those To Fit Proper

2005 DIY w/ FTX close-out cap

This cap fit the tunnel nicely (and the wallet at $85)

Did not have to disturb the cooler or drain fluid.

Used these nifty little tunnel clips and leftover grip edge from what I cut off the running boards.

Just finished the old mans 07 1000, with all stock parts. Turned out really nice. Pictures are little dark so can't tell how sharp it looks but you can see how the parts worked out.

My BDX kit came with the new updated plates that tie the bumper back into the side of the tunnel again, and if you bend or crack the new plates or the side of the tunnel now, you are doing something very very wrong:face-icon-small-con

The plates tie into the main brace thats under the foot rails and go 9" back on the tunnel towards the rear!!!! I think this will be a good fix, but if not, i will be the first to post it!!!! If i ever get to ride, we just got about 4 to 6' of snow up top, but it is bottom less, needs to set up and get a good base!!!

Did the conversion on my M1000 this year, had the BDX set up for 2 seasons and was really dissapointed with the way it looked and performed. I took my time with the BDX install, did all of the updates they sent out but still had cracking issues. Not dogging on BDX but i like the way it turned out this time much better.

when I bought the parts to finish up my 2010 tunnel

left, right edge grips
left, right tunnel gussets
end cap
rear bumper

was over 140 dollars. and the rear cooler alone is over $100 so I think the $450 mentioned above is more accurate!
