Does the TPS have to be adjusted when changing the idle speed with the butterfly set screw? Or can it simply be adjusted if it's too high?

You do have to adjust the TPS anytime the idle screw is tweaked(or at least verify the setting) The TPS setting will change the idle as it is moved also, so it can turn into a several step process before it all settles out where you want it!
When modified(pipes/porting etc.), I've had the best luck setting the idle/TPS on the snow instead of in the shop.
