Anyone use this stuff on our nikasil cylinders? I had a Mag side piston run lean and was thinking of using this to clean the little bit of crap off the cylinder before I put in (another) new top end.

I did once and didn't seem to do a damn thing to get the alum off.

So what did you have to do? I have a small build-up of aluminum near the exhaust port on my nickasil. Will a diamond hone take off just that? It isn't a lot but you definately can feel it.
I just used a regular hone to take off the Alum. I wasn't trying to hone the nikasil, just get rid of the alum.

I thought you had to use a diamond hone on the nikasil jugs? I have a regular ball type hone will that work? Or I could probably rent a universal adjustable stone hone from autozone.

The acid will work. Put it on and let it set then clean and put more on let set.

Thanks guys. I am going to try the acid first then a hone of some sort on both jugs. I only had about 20 miles on this motor and the pto side looks fine but I am going to install 2 new pistons and I want the cross hatch back on there for new 2nd break in. I also plan to trust my wideband and add fuel to richen it up.
