Servo motor delete chip

I recently bought an 02 800 with a D&D 1010 engine and it has STM power valves. I noticed on their website that they use a chip to plug into the servo connection to fool the ECU into thinking that its still there. However, my sled is carbed and I was wondering if I still need this chip or is it only for efi models. It was never installed and apparently the sled ran good before but I just want to make sure.
