The clutching on the m1000 is horrible out of the box so you should be looking at making changes to the secondary just like someone else suggested. Also I have a friend with an M1000 who just melted the electrodes off his plugs and had a 4 corner seize running the slp single because he was running lean. He was running richer than slps recommended boondocker box settings but apprently not rich enough.

Make sure you have properly tuned your sled when running a pipe or you could be in the same boat. From what I have gathered the new sleds come pretty close to the edge for emmission purposes.

I have rk tech secondary boone docker nitrous 45 hp nozzles. I pulls like a train down the road and on hard snow. I get into powder and it pulls like a 120. I cant figure out why i loose track speed in the powder, only getting like 45 50 in the powder. My secondary has a blue spring and 38 helix. Im running 7700 rpms off the juice and 8100 on it. What are you guys running on your secondary?

first trip out with mine 2 weeks ago and i was pulling 65mph track speed.
we were at 5000 feet, had to change the slp settings quite a bit, also did a primary spring change as well!!!
The thing absolutely kicks ***, sooooo much more in the 08 versus the 07.....

what are ya running for bd #s and clutch weights on the 08?
I can give you what is a safe starting level on my sled. I only have a little over 100 miles on my sled, so take that into account.

08 M1k, SLP single, RK TEK head and secondary mod, VOHK cold air intake, 7000-9000 ft. elevation. The following BD #'s appear to be very safe in my sled (medium to dark brown plugs, all EGT temps below 1150), but it pulls hard and no bog anywhere. They are the same as SLP's recommended except in the 7200-7500 range. I think I would melt a piston in this range with their numbers. I have also added 01 in the 3000 low range because after a good pull my idle rpm want to stay around 2400 rpm. This lets it drop to around 2000 rpm pretty quickly.

3000 01 00 00
5000 00 05 00
6500 00 02 02
7200 00 02 02
7500 00 02 02
7800 00 09 13

As far a clutching is concerned, I'm running the RK TEK secondary mod with a 36 degree helix with the cat sno-pro green spring in position 2 and Valley Girl Rollers. With the stock primary (80 grm wts) I can only pull about 7250 rmp at 9000 ft elevation. I will be changing to SLP MTX weights this weekend.

I have no idea what my rpm would be with the stock secondary.

With the high compression head (which lowers that rpm at which peak power is made) I'm targeting 7500 rmp.

Im running SLP with the Attitude box, Love it! Just trying to get the clutching in order.....Im running 65's MTX with no rivets Yellow/white(122/285) primary.....OVS 42/36 with a SW blue spring(130lbs)Middle hole. I can only get 7350-7400 climbing with alot of heat and rpms all over the place 7200-7400. Im thinking of useing a 140/300 in the primary and a Green spring in the second hole(152lbs) in the secondary. Im trying to get to 7700 with no heat in the clutches. what do you guys think?

What's the rate of the blue spring (130lbs - what)? The problem is your secondary from the looks of it. Unlikely its your rollers, though you may have wrecked them. The stock rollers are fine, they just wear out faster than the harder versions available, ESPECIALLY if your clutching is off and you have a lot of heat!

I would imagine that a stiffer secondary spring would help your issues. Are your rpm's steady, or do they fall off in the deep stuff? Your helix looks decent for belt grip, but its likely you aren't getting a fast enough back shift to compensate for the increased load in the deep stuff. Why not throw in the green sno-pro AC Torsion spring and see how it works? They are only $20. Tune one thing at a time and take notes. It doesn't take much at all to improve the m1000's clutching over stock.

One last thing - are you running an 08? The softer belts in the 08 change things over the harder belts of 07 stock. Move the secondary as far in as possible too - stock alignment sucks.

How's the belt/clutch heat after a long pull? Pretty hot i bet... maybe your 38* helix is offering good grip with the 08 belt (if its an 08), but your softly sprung secondary is doesn't have enough spring signal to pull the weights back in your primary? If this the case, your primary is slipping pretty good especially if you are keeping your rpms up. Basically, your clutching is very unbalanced...

Sorry about this being long, but if all the rest of this good - how is your motor at WOT??? You could be running rich or too lean? You are running 92 oct right? SEEYACOP's friend (my friend too) burned his 07 down because he didnt use 92 AND it was likely too lean as well... Just something to think about. Cross 'em all off until you find the truth.

Hope all this helped! :D

Add some weight

I clutched for 7400-7600 peak torque rather then peak Hp 7600-7800. Doesnt the rev limiter hit around 7900-8000? Sounds like this is happing to your sled. I'm running the same but, going back towards stock secondary with shift assist, fooling with different spring rates.

fixed the disconected power valve and it rips now

dealer warranty. Dealer looked at it for the third time and found that one of the power valves wasn't hooked up. Now it rips just like my 07. But I do think i might have to find a new dealer
