got done riding my 98 670 summit x today,shut it off for lunch then an hr later went to start it and it didnt want to at first then held throttle open and it started but acted like it was running on one cylinder for about a minute,then all of a sudden it cleared and ran fine what could be the prob?

Someone pumped your primer and flooded it. Could be a coil going bad but that wouldn't explain having to hold it wide open to get it started.

got it figured out it was the chip key ,it was apparently wore out.

Can anyone elaborate on this (what is a chip key?) We have a Summit 500 that is getting harder to start, takes a bunch of pulls with the throttle held all the way in, then still kinda studders for a bit. Also if you try to rev it right after starting it bogs and stalls.
