Most of the time the purpose of a snow flap is to protect sleds behind you from flying objects. But when you’re in the deep powder, the snow flap can actually be a hindrance to your sled by dragging the back end down.
Some snowmobilers actually remove their flap to provide maximum clearance for their sled … much to the chagrin of fellow riders.
Ski-Doo has found the perfect balance for these situations by designing a LinQ Removable snow flap. It allows a rider to easily detach the snow flap and fasten it to the tunnel while in deep snow. Once back on the trail it’s easily re-attached to the end of the tunnel.
