finding your happy place

AmSnow.com is now SnoWest.com

It doesn’t matter if you have a $3 million celebrity snowmobile cabin or not, we all get that same feeling when we find our happy place on a snowmobile. This issue we have several destination-focused articles that we hope help you find another “happy place” for you to enjoy on a sled.

When I was growing up, my own personal happy place was several hundred acres in northern Lower Michigan, where my grandparent’s family cabin was. It has been years since the cabin was sold and our generation moved away, so I had to find a new happy place. Luckily for me, I now find several a year. It may be as simple as taking a turn down a trail I have never been down before and realizing that it is my new favorite. Or it might be exploring a new meadow or bowl in the mountains that few others know exists.

Recently, we were able to join some family friends at their family cabin in the North Woods of Wisconsin, and they shared their experiences growing up snowmobiling at the cabin. My own son listened to these stories with big eyes and would not stop asking when we were going back outside to snowmobile again. I am pretty sure he has found his happy place, and it is anywhere snowmobiling with daddy.

Where is your favorite snowmobile destination? Share it with us on our Facebook page or the AmSnow.com forums, or email us at editor@amsnow.com. Enjoy our November issue, and get ready for the snow – it’s coming soon!
