If You Recreate On The Salmon National Forest, You Might Want To Stay Involved

News

The Salmon National Forest, located in Idaho, is in the process of revising its forest plan. If you recreate on this national forest, you should pay attention and be involved.

Here is the link for more information. The forest is in the first phase, which is “public outreach.” The next stage under the new Forest Planning Rule is a collaborative process to develop the proposed action. The forest plan, as you remember, is like zoning in a city and it does impact where you ride. It is much easier to be involved up front rather than try to make changes at the end.

If you are interested in being involved, send a message to the ID Team leader and ask him to include you on his e-mail list. E-mail here: jmilligan@fs.fed.us.
