low rpm problems

Amsnow
Q I have a 2012 Ski-Doo GSX SE 600 HO E-TEC. From day one the primary clutch engagement is below normal; approximately 2,200 - 2,400 rpm’s (book says 2,800 - 3,200). Works great otherwise. It max’s out at 7,800 rpm’s top end going down a well-groomed trail or lake (book says 8,100 rpm’s). Where do I start looking to achieve factory specs? - Mikuni Madman

A Replace the primary spring and inspect the clutch for worn, loose or binding parts. It’s probably a sagging clutch spring. As soon as you notice rpm dropping on both ends it’s a pretty good time to change the spring. Even though it was a new sled, one never knows how long it’s been compressed in the clutch. – bman & skidoo64
