The 20th annual World Snowmobile Expo in West Yellowstone, MT, is now in the history books and what will be remembered about this event?

If you like racing, there was great snocross and snow drag action that took place at the old airport. A handful of racers who have been competing on the ISOC national circuit this season showed up to race snocross put on a pretty good show.

Arctic Cat racer Willie Elam, from Buhl, ID, and Colby Crapo, from St. Anthony, ID, made Pro classes an all-Idaho affair, winning Pro Open and Pro SS, respectively. Elam finished behind Crapo in Pro SS for another podium finish. Another Cat racer, Wes Selby, also made a good showing at the snocross races in West Yellowstone, picking up second in Pro Open and third in Pro SS. Between Elam and Selby, Cat finished with four of the possible top six podium spots in the Pro races. Crapo (Polaris) and Logan Halford (Ski-Doo) prevented a clean Cat sweep.

Newman Lake, WA, racer Jake Hedlund finished first in Semi-Pro Open on his Polaris while Taylor Dyess, from Pinedale, WY, was the top finisher in Semi-Pro SS on his Ski-Doo.

If the racing was enough to keep your attention, also at the old airport was the vintage sled showcase, where several snowmobilers showed off their prized possessions.

One of the most popular events all weekend was the Octane Addictions freestyle show. An appreciative crowd watched freestyle trick after freestyle trick flying off the custom-made ramp.

There was plenty to see at the actual Expo itself, with all the 2011 snowmobile models on display, along with a variety of aftermarket products, clothing and avalanche equipment, as well as prime snowmobile destinations.

There was definitely no shortage of snowmobile-related activities all weekend.
