The Big Holes is the “backyard” riding area of many eastern Idahoans. They like the area because it’s close, gets plenty of snow and has lots of off-trail riding opportunities. The area extends from the foothills east and south of Rexburg east to Tetonia, which sits at the base of the Teton Mountains. A popular stop in the Big Holes is Green Canyon Hot Springs, where you can soak in the pool or hot tub. A popular riding area is Thousand Springs.
