Might upgrade the M7... 2008 M8? OR wait for 2009?

Looking at trading up to an M8. Can get new 2008 153 for $9800.00. Was thinking about slapping a cheater 800 into my 7, but for close to the loot I'm going to throw at that, I could upgrade to the M8.
NOW the ??? is, is the 09 THAT much better than the 08? I have a Boss seat I could transfer over, from there a head/can and off to the races methinks...
Opinions? Hog out the 7? Or trade up to either the 08 or 09?

Definately 09, with a head and pipe it would make just as much if not more power than the 8 on 7 kit more reliable, better rear suspension, electronic reverse, sell your boss for $400 and get the spring order one for $300.

I am kinda on the fence about it too

I really like the M7. Its just a blast to ride.

Aren't the 09 M8s just about down to what the M7 weighed? Didn't the the 07 M8 gain 20 some lbs over the M7?

Electronic Reverse seems to be about the only improvement.

I like the 06 bars and steering post better.

Not so sure I like the idea of that new track.

$9800 is a rip off for an 08 153. Seen new 1000s for less then that. You should be looking for something more around 8000 or so IMO.

I would definitely go 09 if it was me though.

I bought a brand new 08 last week for ALOT less than $9800. The price was so good that there was no question whether I should buy the 08 or wait for the 09.

ski doo?

I am in the exact same position with my m7. I was out on friday and hit a hill on my m7. Then I hit the same hill on my friends modded m8 and got about 20 feet higher. Then i jumped on a stock xp and out climbed the previously mentioned sleds plus a modded m1000. That thing rips and was pulling wheelies up the hill! Stock ski doo with a four year warrantee that beats up on those sleds is a hard choice.

After four years on my M7, I think I will have to step up and buy a new one this year. The M7 is great, but I'm ready for a new M8.

Warranty gives you that nice comfortable feeling, but it goes away when you arent riding for months out of the season while your sled is in for "warranty" work. Id go for the 08 and find a good price(NOT 9800!). Youll pay top dollar for an 09 and not be ahead by much, especially if youve already got a boss seat to add. Get the 08 holdover sno pro. my 2 cents

This seems like an exception rather then the rule. The XPs I've seen running up the hill have been turds. Most people I've been talking with say the older REVs run harder.

My question is to people with current M8s is do they handle as good as the M7. The M1000 feels really nose heavy to me and no were near as easy to throw around. The M7 is so nice to throw around and boondock. I'm 10 times less tired after riding then my EDGE RMK.

That was 9800 Cdn.. 8500 for a sno-pro? Sounds like be worth a drive.. where was this at?
Ya, if I had my druthers, it would be a new XP (not that powder blue deal tho, F U G L Y ) however just a poor working stiff, so cost comes into play lol :beer;
