Well just put down the 3 rd after sending my front shocks in to have the pres. bumped up and the oil changed.
Night and day difference. Used to hate the way my front end would dive..... gone

Also stiff enough that I can pound through rough stuff and they are nice and smooth.

WE serviced them for free, all I was out is shipping . To anyone that thinks their front end is soft I would recommend sending them in and have them change them for you . Was def worth the 25$ I spent total in shipping.

Running I believe 245 or 250 psi in them. And lighter oil.
 
I talked to Walker Evans a couple of times (I wanted to know specifically what they would do to my shocks) and they were going to recharge my fronts for free with price of shipping too, but would charge I think $55 to upgrade my front track shock with the new red/blue piston and re-valve.

Mike at Fabcraft did the exact same thing for me, for a little more, but I didn't have to pay the shipping to and from (we live about 10 miles away), nor did I have to wait. They were done in one day. Fabcraft charges their shocks a little higher than Walker Evans. Fabcraft has found that they need more in the stacks for the valving than WE puts in before it makes a difference.

maybe 2 silly questions

First, if shocks are soft and you want the pressure checked, shouldn't the Polaris dealer do that under waranty? Second, does shock pressure change with altitude? If you set the shock at 200 PSI at sea level, will it be at 150PSI at 10,000 altitude?:confused: I know engine compression drops.

talked to my dealer today and said that polaris won't cover them on warranty, not even to check the pressures.. says that in the book shocks are a part of regular maintenance and should be the customers responsibility. pretty stupid if i'd say. all they have to do is tell polaris that the customers complains about shocks sagging. whatever. i think it should be covered. and also to do it properly that they have to take the shock out of the sled. any ideas about that, sounded like b.s, but you never know. if i wanted to i could take the shocks off myself and take them in and they'll throw there tool on and check em and charge them up but they were goin to take them off cause they won't get paid to do so.
 
your shocks wont change in altitude or tempature. thays why they put nitrogen in them and not regular air like the fox floats
 
I'm looking forward to riding mine now as well. I had the Fabcraft stuff done and once I installed everything it's amazing how it actually sits nice and tall, no sag or anything. Bouce up and down on the front and for sure you can tell things are stiffer and come right back to where they are supposed to be. I'd bet there will be no diving now.
 
Has anyone had the track shocks redone. I got fed up with dealing with mine and put on some fox's.I would still like to have them redone to run on my back up sled if they would work better with the chambers and better valving.

My dealer re seals and repressurize mine under warranty evey time I bring them in. I do pull them off the machine to take them in. Front shocks have been revalved but riding in -20 the seals crap out, track shocks are junk and need sealed and pressure all the f'n time.

Ez ride next year and pitchin the w.e.'s in the trash. :p
 
I had all 4 done this year and it makes a huge difference just getting the correct pressure in them. fronts went to 225 psi and rear stayed stock at 200psi. I think they were way low when I bought the sled last year because it sits so much higher and returns to proper height after compressing the rear now. I did change springs too, but i did them before the recharge and they didn't help at all.
Take them all off before you go to the dealer and save yourself a couple hours of labor. $65 to have all 4 done, and as i said they have to be removed from the sled to get charged. Easier to take off than to put back on but I work too hard for my money to give it away because i'm lazy.
 
Just sent mine to Walker Evans. They will upgrade the 08's to the 09 valving and recharge them for $55. I never had any diving problems, but they really needed recharging after sitting over the summer. Your manual does state that the shocks require recharging each season.
 
My rear came at 90psi and my fronts were 160 and 180. The re-charge works fine and the Fabcraft Chambers work even better. Just had the pistons and valve stack done on them and can't wait to ride.
