In late 2012 or early 2013 did Polaris ordered 10,000 high quality Fuji crankshafts with high quality Koyo Japan bearings for the 600 & 800 Polaris engines, True or False???

A top flatland repair shop has posted that the 2011 & early build 2012 800cc Polaris engines could have type 1 #3753 crankshaft that has China bearings and assembled in Italy by the low cost supplier M.A.P.E., True or False???

Also the late build 2012 & all 2013 & all 2014 800 CFI-2 engines would be assembled with the type 2 ref #0262 indicating a high quality Fuji crankshaft with high quality Koyo Japan bearings.

If one removes the P85 clutch will the PTO end be marked #0262 indicating a Fuji crankshaft... True or False???
A 2014 800 CFI-2 crankshaft could be marked 019496-0262-02-13, True or False???

True or False 800cc engine component p/n's:
*Two different crankshaft p/n's (2011 & 2012 type 1 ref. #3753 M.A.P.E., #2203717) & (2013 & 2014 #2204621 type 2 #0262 Fuji )
*Three different Crankcase p/n's, (2011& 2012, #220432), (2013, #2204902), (2014, #2205174)
*Two different piston p/n's, (2011,2012, 2013, # 2204322) were these "SOFT" pistons made in India by ASSO???
*New piston for late built 2013 & all 2014 800cc Poo engines, higher quality??? piston #2205176 made by ??? or are they a slightly improved India ASSO piston???
*Four different 800cc cylinder p/n's, (2010 #3022201) (2011 #3022205), (2012 #3022352) & (2013 & 2014 #3022449 Cylinder SDI Mono Offset, what is offset???)
-----------------------------
Do the 2014 800 CFI-2 engines run smoother then the 2011- 2013 engines with the stock not so good ASSO pistons???
My 2014 800 CFI-2 engine appears to idle smoother then my traded in 2011 800 CFI-2+2 Poo & my excellent, strong 2012 600 CFI-2+2???

A few people have stated that Polaris has not made any significant component changes to the 2014 800cc engine improving reliability & performance... So I compared the different component p/n changes on the 2010-2014 800cc engines in the Polaris on line parts Internet sight... http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp My only choice as a good friend that is in upper Polaris management last month would not even comment when I asked him if the 2014 would have new pistons & cylinders....All he would say is that the 2013 800cc engines were much improved over the 2012 engines & very few warranty claims. Plus that the 2014 would perform better & be more reliable then the 2013 800's, you know us engineers we need to keep improving the design & quality.. added 23Sept2013

I'll guess well find out when someone tears down a 2014 motor... pulls the piston with a different number and cuts it in quarters for cross section comparison with a Previous piston cut into the same quarters.

The metallurgy could be different as well... besides a vendor change...That part is more difficult to check.

In 2011, it seems, Polaris changed from ELKO to Asso pistons... maybe they've changed back.

The 800 CFI and long stroke 600 racer engines were all using the MAPE cranks prior to the DC-CFi2-800's.

Aren't the MAPE-Polaris parts made in the Cambridge MN facilty??
http://www.mape.it/?page_id=97&lang=en

The IQR's use a sealed greased bearing I believe on the PTO end that requires no oil... in fact the IQR's are premix I believe... The cranks from the IQR's and 800 CFI's bear the same part numbers from 2012 up... though admittedly, some of the 2012's got the other crank.

I still have yet to get any official word of who makes the type 2 cranks... it has not been published anywhere and I cant find any makers-marks on the cranks themselves.

Also, I have yet to see anyone posting up side by side photos and comparisons of any dimensions of disassembled cranks???... maybe I'm missing something.

I believe that MAPE still makes cranks for Polaris for many sleds and other engines in the MAPE Cambridge, MN facility.

For 2014... The IQR's feature a 2.5 lb lighter crank with the same stroke... HMM?? Who makes that one... MAPE-USA, FUJI... MAPE-It???
They went with a "PORK CHOP" design... which may or may not have the low vibration attributes that the consumer market demands (in contrast to the race market)... and may or may not function with the different dynamic balance attributes of a larger bore/heavier piston of the 800cc mill.

NEW Lightweight Crankshaft (2014 IQR ONLY)
The new lightweight crankshaft features a design that provides the same balance as the previous crankshaft – with a 2.5-pound weight reduction in rotating mass.

This results in a 25% reduction in inertia, improved throttle response and increased acceleration. Racers will achieve better holeshots, and the engine will reach its optimal operating RPM faster.

Is the 2014 piston # 2205176 a direct replacement for the 11-13 motors?
=========
Per HCS posts about Poo 800 piston p/n's, it appears that this spring the new replacement 800 piston p/n is 2205176, per several posts on HCS, a Poo dealer could confirm his.:

My mistake, that was manufacturing #. Try this one 2205176. Its a new number. Just had buddy check a poo dealer site

DJ660 brought this to the table with p/n 2205176. My dealer confirmed the p/n and is checking on the details.

DJ660 just an FYI your first p/n (3022518) is now valid. Speculation here there may be 2 p/n's with the cylinders being different between 2011-12 and 2013
==================
on 4-6-13 For what it's worth what I've been told the new p/n for the piston (2205176) is a replacement piston from a different supplier and at current is not the production piston. This was done because of availability issues which unfortunately some of you have experienced.

Is Polaris working with the original supplier and looking at this to maybe making some changes? Don't know.

Well, if he'd left out the "true or false" part maybe none of us would think twice about this? I find many details pertaining to the cranks and thereby the quality of the engines in this thread.

If we can get some follow-up comments here, this thread will become informative.

If we'd stop buying crap from other country's and build it the old fashion American way we wouldn't be having this discussion!!
Denying that the Japanese can make an amazing 2 & 4 stroke motor is laughable. Its all in how much you spend on the stuff, you can get cheap foreign junk just as fast as US made junk. The japs make some amazing motors. They run good and they run for a long time.

True statement the old fashion way . Made in America is not the same as it was it seems today standards are way down . I hear it everyday from contractors to store owners you just can not hire anyone with pride in their work anymore. I can just imagine what Polaris is going thru with the mutable employees they hire .
I hate to say it but I would just as soon by Japans product over American .

Obviously you missed the operative word "Crap". No one denies there is good stuff out there. But when you buy "Crap", that's what you get.
