Q I have a 2011 Ski-Doo 800R with 600 miles on it. It was running poorly, so I took the plug caps off and the tops are black with big pits in the top where the plug wire goes on. One plug wire was almost welded on. Is this normal? The sled may have sat a while. The engine is stock. – machz975
A We have always had problems with the molded-on caps on late model Ski-Doos. I suggest getting a couple of the NGK TBO5EMA caps and replacing them. The BR9ECS-5 plugs work great for that motor. Make sure your jetting is correct and you are using fuel with a low ethanol content and it should run as it was meant to. – Todd Guthrie, Dyna-Tek Performance
