zx chassis engine fitting into rev chassis?

heres my question, I have a 2002 summit 800 and I was wondering If it would fit into my 2005 600 mxzx (rev chassis). Of course the exhaust wouldnt fit but besides that I was wondering if it would bolt in or not? Im pretty positive it wont but I just want to double check that I dont have an 800 engine I could be putting into my sled. Thanks.

The 02 800 motor will bolt right to the 05 600 motor plate. The mpem, I don't think the wiring is the same, could be wrong tho, you may be able to just switch mpems, on a 04 it would work. Its possible, but its not like you could just bolt the 800 motor in and go. Carbs would be another issue. I guess it all depends on how good of a mechanic you are.

my bad the 2005 is a typo. its a 2003 mxz x. I have the carbs and everything. what exhaust would I have to use though? would the 600 exhaust work on the 800? thanks.

The 600 exhaust would work but it would robb some HP. Ideally you would find a exhaust off a 04 - 05 800 rev. If its a 03 mxz the wiring is basically the same, the 800 mpem should plug right in. You might need to use the carb flanges from the 600 so the angle is right for the chassis.

Motor will fit but the chaincase is a one year case in the 03. ZX and 04-06 are the same case. Can be a problem down the road.

yea ive been looking and Ive seen a few things different. The SLP torque stops in the zx chassis I put in will not fit either. Im worried i'll be breaking a nun before long with that 800 in the rev

03 440 use the same case as the zx and 04 to 07 models, 03 beaver tails 600 and 800 used a shorter case.

1 other question I have is, does anyone know if v-force 3 reeds in the zx 800 sled will work on the rev 600 h.o. motor? I know 600-800 is the same reed cage and everything, but I couldnt find anything on mototassinari's website. I know the 600 stock reeds have 8 petals compared to the normal 6? on older sleds. anyone info would be great on this. thanks a lot

on their website it says the reeds fit zx chassis 600-800 from 2001-2007...they didnt make zx chassis in 2007 though. the rev reeds say they fit 2003-2007. im just going to throw them in and find out what happens.

Bent nun?

Thats a myth for people who crash their REVs and blame it on the chassis haha

See what Salvage has yet? May have a good 800HO Y pipe and pipe. Hope the wiring isnt too much of a pain

I have run 800 ho reeds in a 600 ho, so the reeds should work.

Yea I just finished putting them in and it runs fine. Hopefully it will continue to do that...(yea right).. its been having trouble starting lately though. when its warmed up it will sometimes just start running on one cylinder for a few seconds. when I turn it off and try to start it again it takes like 10-15 pulls to get it going. I checked the plugs multiple times and they look great. Its getting gas and oil. good spark. checked every wire for a good connection. I cant find anything. maybe the stator is going out? any ideas?

it had new pistons and rings put in at amds about 100 miles ago.. I have a compression tester but im afraid to check because I dont want to get pissed off it its already bad. haha. I just put new plugs in. found a small crack in the carb boot so I got a new one. I'll take it out this weekend and see how it goes. thanks for the help.

I'm still thinking rings or crank seal. I had a crack in my carb boot last ride and it fluctuated the RPM at idle and ran 200 degrees hotter on that side but never died or hard to start.
