Well the verdict is in. The last three days we've ridden a stock 2019 YZ450 2023 TS 3", my cammed and ported 2018 YZ450F 2022 Yeti vs the 2012 GYTR CNC headed with race cams and the Athena 500 kit 2021 Aro 3. The 500 rules by a large margin. It just doesn't stop, 2nd gear on anything 6" or 2 feet it doesn't care. The single ring design makes me nervous for longevity but I guess we will see. My bike will be getting one when the time comes for a new top end again. CBC you're on to something, LOL.

It would be interesting to take a compression reading every few hours on the single ring vs conventional to quantify what may be given up in longevity vs power gain. How do you think it would compare to a hopped up ktm/hus 501?

I've ridden the 501's a few times but honestly not enough to give an informed opinion about them. The ones I've ridden were done up but I'm not a fan of the motor nor the wide ratio trans. If I were to guess I'd say the YZ500 would go toe to toe with it but who knows for sure. Its all internet BS anyway. LOL.

I bet that single ring balance the slowing of the revs in the bigger bore.. always liked it on the 2 strokes
