Found out just how much I used breakers back in 2009 on my 06 800X scetchy 2 days of riding. But that was the absolute best thing that could have happened to me for progressing as a rider. Bounced off more trees and got stuck way less ever since. Not many people will tell you the tips of your skis are to help you around trees without letting off or jumping side to side all the time.

That is true but the first one I've broke in well 15,000 miles.

I personally enjoy a lack of engine brake but I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here

Brakes just add weight and slow you down, what's the fun in that?
Did that last year in a clinic with Bret Rasmussen. Had to ride out on some gnarly steep single file tight tree trails with no brake. Guys behind me kept wondering why I'd go and get a big gap began riders then bomb down a section. Guy on a new turbo Axys said he was having a hard time keeping up! Ha!

The lack of engine braking really helps to reduce the nose dive in powder, in most instances I like it that way.
