XP Air Intake Pre-filter?

Im sure this has been on here many times but whats the best pre-filter out there? Cant imagine most of you are still using that foam stock thing that came on the sled. I always seem to have issues with it having snow stuck to it or making its way(falling) into the airbox, leaving gaps and allowing snow in. I have an 09 summitx 800 and any ideas or comments will be appreciated. That stock pre-filter sucks! Thanks in advance....

There are not many options out there for the stock air intake. I ended up using a pre-filter sock for the foam from R&M that is loose fitting and moves a bit as you get on and off the throttle. This tends to keep some of the snow off, but in deep snow conditions it too eventually clogs. Check out http://www.rmproducts.info/ski-doo-panels.html for the XP pre-filter.
I ended up going with an aftermarket air intake and also putting some vents on the carb airbox.

I took out the stock '09 foam and then drilled a few holes in the plenum that allowed me to place a few zip ties in there to act as a "web" so the stock foam cannot push in and allow gaps/snow entry. It worked good! Combine that with the RS 600 intake or the SLP intake and you have a good system.

I just installed an intake on my 09 summit from an 08 model; the one with a mesh screen. It was real simple to do and was like $30 I think. The dealer had a mesh-like pre-filter cover for the 09's foam intake but it was like twice as much as I paid for the 08 kit. So even if I poke holes or destroy the screen intake I can just install another one and still come out ahead

I went with the zip tie route aswell. Stock the front of my sponge would collapse inward with the slightest bit of pressure. Extremely poor design IMO. Dont know how many times I had to dig snow out of the air box last year. Going to add a secondary intake like RB says, slp maybe or the xtremeair with the rs 600 intake funnel. Maybe even a homemade joby, there was a decent one someone fabbed up on Dootalk.
