Which skis are better?

I just bought a 2009 Summit 800/154" and I am thinking of
buying a set of Simmions skis. Does anyone have an opinion about the
difference between the Gen 1 Simmions and the stock 6.9's?
Is there enough difference to spend the money?

I have always been a fan of Simmons, have had them on just about every sled I've had since mid '90's.....but IMO they are too heavy steering on the XP's......they MAY be fine on the '10's with the susp changes but I took them off my '08. Stock or SLP SLT's are a better choice for most. JMO-:beer;

Same as Winter Brew found the Simmons to be hard to steer. The 6.9s seem to work as good as anything with center and outer runners.
I am going to try the woodys twin runners on the 6.9s and see what that works like.

I run simmons on my XP now. I rode all last season with the stockers. I thought the stockers were pretty good (all my previous sleds ran with Simmons) until i put the simmons back on. They are amazing skis, you don't realize how good they are until you run without them for a season.

But I agree with above posts they are a thicker ski so they put more weight on front suspension (like turning up your front springs) so you must compensate by lightening front spring preload. I haven't tried any other skis on it, so can't comment on comparisons to the others mentioned.

I would say they are worth the $400 cdn you'll pay, plus you can move them to your next sled too.
