What to do with removed sensors/plugs, oil and TSS

I FINALLY did an oil delete and destroyed the oil sensor upon bottle removal (die you little piece of crap! die! die!). I pulled the sensor end out of the plug into the harness.

I'm about to do the same thing with the TSS. I'm taking the whole throttle block assembly off and making an index finger throttle, either with a mountain bike brake lever (or a snobunje lefty if I can find one for cheap). The thumb paddle just has too much swing to go from idle to WOT and I have to move my hand too much.

But my question is what's going to happen electrically with both of these sensors removed. I can handle an oil light staying on, but with the TSS removed it's not going to stay in 'tripped mode' is it? Do I need to put a resistor on it or something?

Thanks!

and if you've got a snobunje lever you don't want, I'll buy it!

unplugged the oil sensor does nothing... just leave it.

I like the idea of the lever, curious to see what you come up with. The flapper is less then ideal for finger (I usually cut a little off the end so I can two finger it, and hit the bar without it hitting my other fingers on the bar.) But a brake lever isn't intended to run the same amount of pull (brake travel is pretty smalll in comparison) so I don't think that'll work, but I'd be interested to see what does.

The doo is less ideal than the cat when run forward, so I'm also looking for a different setup ideally as well.

The racer throttle block works well btw... that was my favorite setup, but took a bit of adjustment at the throttle bodies, and a slightly higher idle rpm for it to work... If you can handle getting that turbo of mine on there, pretty sure you'll be ok making that throttle work.

If you do a lefty throttle, I'd avoid the goldfinger, the single finger design of that one would be rough for a whole day imo. I suppose I use my one finger mostly, but I use two a lot as well. The snobunjie one is pretty nice.

Yeah I've run the stock flapper reversed (I think you did the same thing) and it's just too damn long. I'm looking for something that just works with an index finger. I've actually got a goldfinger here and was planning on using it just because I like the way the curved lever hangs on your finger but the cable pull is nowhere near enough to use as a primary throttle lever. I'm not too worried about fatigue with one finger. Biking has prepared my forearms for that one pretty well.

The snowbunje one looks like it has the longest cable pull but I'm not dropping 140 bucks until I know for sure. That's why I'm hoping I can find a discarded one somewhere.

I actually think a v-brake lever might work too. I've got a buddy who's giving me one next time I see him. It's kind of refreshing that they're kind of hard to find now though. :D But they've got more pull than an old cantilever lever. I need something greater than about an inch and a half of pull. Considering most v-brakes are setup to engage pretty quickly, there's a lot more pull in there that never gets used.

Who makes the racer throttle block? Is that an AC thing?

Disconnecting the TSS is making me nervous based on some of the threads I've found. I need to figure out that hurdle first. Worst case scenario is I just keep the sensor intact and tie it under the hood or something.

edit: oooh......hello world of watercraft!

Yeah I was looking at those a lot closer. I just don't think there's enough throw/cable pull with them just based on how short the distance looks from pivot to the end of the handle.
You have a pwc you could measure the cable pull on?

I went by the bike shop today and found something weird that has WAY more throw than the ones I was looking at. I've got it bent and cut up already and I it looks like it'll work pretty well. I was even thinking about doing a concentric cam reducer at the throttle bodies...

Now I've just got to figure out that TSS switch.......

the proclimb sleds will still run when you unplug the tss, atleast mine does when I just deleted it and a bunch of other crap off my bars!
