I am lucky enough to choose between two boost sleds this for this coming season:

khaos boost. 155”, 2.75”.

Pro RMK boost slash 163”, 3.0”.

I am a third year rider. Last year I spent half the season on a Pro Rmk 850, 163”, 2.6. The other half was spent on a 155” tunnel, 163” 2.6” track Khaos.

I loved the khaos. Wasn’t in love with the pro.

I ride the trees. I don’t get into anything that is extremely steep. (I try to avoid crazy avy danger) I did like how the 163” was more forgiving.


What would you pick?

I'm a smaller guy and I think the new khaos is going to be a lot of fun to get to whipping around on. I am looking forward to the playfulness of the khaos and shorter track.

Unless your only keeping one, why not ride both and compare? I don't think you can go wrong, turbos are a different animal

If you ride trees id say the Pro is an easy choice and 163 would make life simpler. If you decide you made the wrong choice just sell your skid and track and buy a 155 skid and track then swap out or vesa versa 155 to 163

Pro in the Matryx is said to be much more playful. Your last year's experiences were with the same sled, same track with different rails/shocks. Differences with the listed 2022's will be more pronounced. Snow you ride in will be a bigger factor. For some folks, 3" trenches in soft, champagne pow much more than the 2.6 that you were riding, the kinda new 2.75 isn't as well known, since last year's sled had to be banjo tight and still slipped. Ultimate trick pow sled vs. ultimate deep snow tree slayer, which may also be more playful than the sister Axys. Ride both, and you'll probably want both, blonde or brunette.

i think you want a 155 pro or 163 khaos, which i know isn’t an option you listed. a lot of people don’t seem to believe it but the 3.0” track is junk, it trenches terribly and falls apart if you ride above 40mph on the trail.

it sounds like you’d do better with a 163 for your riding style. if you’re in decent shape and don’t mind getting stuck a bit then go for the 155. if you don’t mind replacing the 3” track in about 1000 miles then get the 163 and put a 163 2.6 or 165 2.75 on it later. turning that 155 slash into a 165 as suggested by someone else wouldn’t be a good idea in my mind.

What would you pick?

155 Khaos.
Better shocks, better track, and the 2.75 sleds got the updated driveshaft/extroverts/anti stab factory. This whole kit is way more refined out of the box. They are rowdy for sure but IMO after riding the demo boosts I can say the 155 khaos was the sled was the more overall fun. the power delivery worked really well and it is a blast to ride. builds enough speed easily so the skis dont stay sky high. but also you can come to a stop and do an aired out bow tie from a dead stop foot plant. Its whack.

Thoughts on the 3.0 track vs the 2.75 for the boost sleds? Do you guys think there really is that big of a difference? I am currently on a 2.6 163.

Depends on the snow. Revy snow the tracks that are 3.5 pitch work better. The 2.75 works better than the 3 inch. But if they release a 3 in version with 3.5 pitch i bet it work better

2.75 all day. the Series 7 3" has never been a standout option. it has its places where it was better then the 2.6 but very few. The series 8 2.75 works better for sure in most all conditions. As mentioned above, a 3" paddle in 3.5 pitch would be the money for areas with deeper snow.
