Okay so Priest Lake races are cancelled, but here is another race, as of today still on. My understanding it is a one day race on February 13th Sumpter, Oregon...
They had the January race and they have just announced the February race.

Is Mrs Plum going to hold the hammer down on the Polaris? Make sure to tell her that marketing says that they are flickable in the corners.

actually the Polaris BROKE before we even raced it (I think a bearing in the drive axle froze); however, the Yamahas ran super and Kolbie was an animal in the corners and won her four classes (Junior 340, Junior 440, Women 340, and Women 440). Her last year as a junior. Granny got her all time wish of a 1-2 finish, which happened in the Women's 440 class. After a red flag start after a pretty good crash, Kolbie jumped back into first place and checked out on her SS440 and Granny made a last lap pass and moved into second place at the checkered! Fun weekend! THANKS FLY RACING for all the winner swag!!!

Racing at Priest Lake was awesome!!! The track was very smooth ice that held up the whole weekend. Racing organization was very good!

Can you believed 256 entries!!!

Saturday we qualified in some of the classes we entered but set up was off so we spent HOURS working on the sleds Saturday night...

Sunday we had not won a race, a second in Women's Stock 340, and a respectable 4th place finish in Stock 340 (almost 40 entries). We figured our best chance to take a win was in Women 440 as Kolbie's 440 was rockin! Janet's 440 had the CDI unit out and part of the thrashing we did Saturday night was changing the suspension out of Janet's non-running 440 into Kolbies 440. Janet was stuck racing her 340 in the 440 class.

After a couple of wrecks, Kolbie was jumping into the lead after each restart... then her GoPro caught this in turn 3...of the sled and Kolbie sliding on her back off the sled!!!!

1643607735227.png

Kolbie slid across the track and the sled stayed up right ending up on the snow berm. Not too far from where I was standing. Race was red flagged. With help got the sled back on the track, Kolbie was okay and at the re-start per the rules, Kolbie was started a few sleds back from everyone else.

Re-start

1643608043253.png

Turn one she got past two, but is stuck behind her grandma (127)

1643608197349.png

Back straight coming into turn 3 (where she crashed) and she has her grandma and two others ahead of her...

1643608345278.png

she comes in HOT into turn 3, bobbles, and she is almost overtaken, then turns on the gas and powers out of turn 4

1643608541541.png

I had made steering and clutch changes and these changes are really paying off! Kolbie gets back into the gas passes the white Yamaha, her grandmother (127) and the black Exciter on her right... one more sled to chase down, but only a couple of laps to go!

Final lap and coming down the back straight away Kolbie finally catches the leader (on a Kawasaki 340)... Kolbie runs deep into turn 3, kicks her sled sideways

In turn 4 they are bumping and trading paint... the finish line is in sight!!! The 340 Kawasaki is giving it all to our Yamaha 440, but the 440 has just a little more as both sleds come out of turn 4!

YES!!! Kolbie pulls ahead and takes the checkered!!!

Racing again this weekend Feb.12 and 13... pre-registration is now required due to the large number of racers.

Local Priest Lake Newspaper (our granddaughter, on the Yamaha).. I believe this was the final lap in the main for Stock 340, the Merc took 3rd, Kolbie took 4th.

A lot of racers again at Priest Lake races... ice held up very well. Racing was stupid fast... on the downside there were several crashes.

We did okay... (yeah I got bullied into racing in the 65+ class, race any snowmobile... I raced the stock SS 440 I built...)

another of our granddaughters, Amiah (green jersey), did okay until she had her nerves rattled in a spin in turn 4... but she said she wants to come back... no podium finishes...and she did not make any of her Mains.

Priest Lake Western Finals this coming weekend! February 26th & 27th, Priest Lake, Idaho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should be a zillion racers and a lot of excitement as everyone is trying to end the PL Season as a winner.

The 717 SS440 and 717 ET340 are ready to go, will just need the picks sharpened and the carbides installed Friday night...

We are thrashing on two of the sleds.. the 6127 SS440 ran well but when we started going through it we found the header pipe was broken and we knew the brake was bad... crap it is due to a warped disc... the second one is no better... Header pipe is fixed. Hoping the local machine shop and can flatten the disc out. More maintenance and checking and the suspension in the 6127 ET 340 has... issues... will need to pull the suspension (I swear the ET340 suspension is the worse) fortunately we have lots of parts for the ET 340 suspension.

Hope we have four sleds ready by Friday morning!

If in PL, stop by and say hi

Should be a big weekend for Kolbie

WOW! Priest Lake race was very large... not sure what the final count of racers, but there were a lot!

Track prep was unbelievable, very smooth track and it held up very well.

Competition was tight, even for the old guys (65+ in age)... turn one action...

Our Kolbie got to do two parade laps with the checkered

Cool pass by Kolbie to take the lead...

Plumnuts and a good friend on Plum Nuts Racing sleds (both SS440s)... it took us a couple of laps as we could not catch the SRX on the straights, but we kept running deeper and deeper into the corners and finally got by him... Jim got by him first, it took me (Plumnuts) one more lap and the final two corners to get by him and then a drag race to the finish line (I took second by inches)... VERY FUN RACING!!!

We bailed on the Sumpter race as it is still happening, but was moved to South of John Day.... added almost 2 hours for us... so we called it a season.

It's only 56 more miles from Sumpter to John Day so only 1 hour more one direction. I'd probably go the Baker City route too. I was dreaming of going but Grant thought I had better wait till next year.

You guys can call it a season and you had a great season this year.

I went ands cleaned about 6 inches of new tonight. They had closed the interstate tonight as well as the highway over Tollgate. Between Walla Walla and Dixie the highway was closed I think it was a fatality so took awhile to get home.
