Vents? the possibilities are endless!

alright guys I got a couple questions.

In your opinion, who makes the best vent kits between Mod Rods, MOFLO, and frogskin/cat?

Also what location do you like best? on the hood or side panels?

Looking to get a set for my 13 pc. I really like the cat cut out with the mod rods for the side panels and it also looks pretty durable.

For the hood I like the moflo because it looks more durable.

Also which brand seems to hold up the best and keeps the most moisture out?

But I have never had a set so just looking for some advice/input from you guys!

Thanks in advance! Matt

For what it's worth, I used the frogskinz kit from Cat. Cutting your panels to fit the vents on and not have it look like shiz is very time consuming. I used a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel. Made a helluva mess.
On the other hand... I have sideswiped trees to where there was tree scuff marks on my side panels, and the vents were not damaged. They're pretty tough. I did side panels only. No hood vents yet. And I do feel like it cut down on the heat saturation in there. Also got rid of every piece of foam I could find.

MoFlow all the way Mike makes some premium products and they look awesome!!!

so, say I was going to buy some moflo hood vents for each side of the hood. would you guys pay extra to add the prefilter on the outside of the mesh or is the mesh good enough? im liking the carbon dipped frames moflo has to offer!

I would get the pre-filter on there too. I had to frogzskin the two openings on the front on my pro-lite to keep snow from coming in there. One trip when it was cold and the snow was really dry and light, I was getting enough in there that it was building ice around the throttle body area. Iced off the baro tube so the sled thought it was at 5500 ft all the time when it was more like 7500-8000. Ran fairly rich. The other problem toward the end of the day was the throttle was starting to stick from icing up.

I feel like you could get the same issues from the open mesh in the right snow conditions since the the hood vents would let air/snow in the same place as the factory openings.

I have the blow hole. The position they mount it suffers from the Polaris kit. It seems like it just pulls under hood heat right by the primary and the secondary gets no heat pull. My clutches were still on fire with it. It seems like a better idea to have it push air out the top, or on the exhaust can side instead. Not to mention you have to take the thing off to do a belt change. If I put mine back on I want to mount it somewhere else than the belt guard.

Don't forget about the carbon fiber vents from Fire-n-Ice. They will be at the Denver Show this weekend, sharing a booth with KMOD... Go check them out, something cool is being announced for the first time at the show.

I think im going to go with the moflo hood vents in carbon fiber with the prefilters. should look good on my black limited! thanks for the imput guys! might cut out the side panels later on in the season.

there all good. imo I got carbon fiber ones from racinstation. mountain fit hood with their vents and 1 2cool vent.

Do you have the 12-13 kit or 14-15 jw?
