TRS Patriot motor mounts

I’m having the mounts made to correct leadin. You will be able to adjust the engine into perfect alignment.
Getting leadin down to .010-.020” will reduce belt heat and wear. Prolonging belt life.
Anyone that has used one of my alignment bars knows how far out they are from the factory.
Once the engine is aligned properly you can add a torque arm if you’d like.
I have been modifying the mounts since the 850 came out for customers and race sleds. I’ve had so many requests it’s time to offer a billet replacement.
They will fit trail or mountain sleds.

This is a great idea. Die grinding slots is painful. Thank you

Yes you can. It’s a simple process. There will be instructions and pics with the kit.
Remove your can and secondary. Remove the front mag side engine mount bolts from the underside. Loosen the front PTO engine mount a few turns from the top with a long extension and 13mm socket. Replace the rear engine mounts one at a time. You can use a small pry bar to lift/ hold the engine. Get your leadin set using a TRS alignment bar. Tighten the rear engine mounts, recheck leadin. Tighten the front PTO side. Recheck it again. You may have to dremel out the bulkhead holes a bit to reinstall the front mag side bolts.
Your done.

Here's some more information for what it's worth:
1. The engine delivers maximum torque at around 7800 rpm.
2. This torque is multiplied the most when the CVT is in low gear.
3. Thus, the engine should twist the most rearward in low gear.
4. The torque multiplication diminishes as the CVT upshifts.
5. Therefore, the rearward twist under load also diminishes.
6. If you have too much forward twist to start with, the engine will NEVER self align.
7. The answer is to minimize forward twist.
8. Center to center is important in order to get the full CVT shift range for a given belt.
9. If c-c is too long, the belt will not allow the lowest gear at launch.

Many sled riders aren't aware of the hidden benefits of proper clutching setup.

A set of mounts for the Patriot powered trail and mountain sleds, correcting leadin and C-C, will run $180 a set.
Only a TRS alignment bar will get you proper leadin with these mounts. They are $79.95.
We have partnered with TKI on this project and are available from TRS and TKI.

Nice work Tony. This Should be done at the factory but nowadays it’s all about “ease of assembly line procedure” “standardized procedures” and “lean manufacturing”. Bean counters and Industrial Engineers. Living with 0.060” plus lead in sucks.

The “good enough for who it’s for” crowd seems to match the same attitude of some of our resident forum experts.
