Per subject installing TRS's clutching on my RMK 800. The shiv indexing is driving me bonkers. This is as close as I can get. Just a smidge over 3/4 of an inch, AND with the spider clocked clockwise one tower. Manual says up to one inch is okay and clocking the spider off one tower is also.
For reference, I started with 0.165" shim pack, now down to ~0.068 shim pack measured with dial calipers to get 0.028 roughly belt to shiv on a new belt.
From the people out there who do this all the time. Is this really OKAY? do I need to rebalance?
