Hooks onto the end of the throttle bodies. It can be tested off the sled but has to be attached to the throttle body. It gives feedback to coordinate the throttle advance with the timing advance.

Got it off and there seems to be a drop in the reading w/ an analog meter right off idle. I guess that means its bad?

Let me know if you need a TPS I have a buddy that is fighting problems on his 900 king cat and he replaced the tps and that was not the problem

TPS units are not replaceable on the EFI. Good news is, they are only $850 for a new valve body! Sucks!!! TPS values are: Throttle valve angle-degrees
Idle 5.100* - 5.600* Full Open 82.500*- 87.200*
Voltage
Idle 0.685 - 0.707 Full open 3.750 - 3.937 You may have to adjust your idle to get the right angle and voltage. Hard to do without the proper testing equipment.

Not replaceable? From the research I have done it looks like it is the same part# as the carbed. Mine tested at 4.5 at idle abd would go from there to 11.8 pretty quick. I ordered pn 6506-074. $80.00. Nothing personal but I sure hope you are wrong Digger...

I hope I am wrong too! My repair manual says you have to replace the whole body on the EFI models. It is just the two screws so I don't know why you can't, but according to the manual, you can't do it. I never took one off a EFI but have had to adjust the idle set on a couple to get the base reading. Let me know if the replacement part works for you. Good luck.

as for the tps, my 06 service manual says you can replace the tps sensor but only if the sled is out of warranty. under warranty, the throttle boddies, injectors, and tps must be replaces as an assembly. big $$$$

TPS came in and it is different than the carb set-up. The right part# is 3006-940 and it is $320.00. It seems now that the problem may be in the kill switch...
