Hi - the tmotion on my 18 850 folded forward and down onto the track and proceeded to cut all the fiberglass bars in the track ... roughly the ony thing holding the trck together now are the center paddles ... Has anyone ever seen this happen before? What is the cause of it and how do you prevent it from happening again? track.jpg

Just thinking out loud but it’s a thought!! What is the condition of your rear shock? The only reason I ask, if the shock was wore out and snowmobile was really springy. It could of slowly folded the tab on the T motion that stops it from doing this fold over. Maybe over time the tab bent over eventually leading to failure.

Looks like there are lockout washers installed........is that correct?

Could that have anything to do with the failure?

Generally what drives that issue is front track shock fully collapsed, and rear track fully extended. Sled decks are notorious for that. This allows the lower pivot to over pivot or pivot forward. Did someone remove the pivoting lock that is welded on to the upper pivot arm? Either that or it got broke earlier and no one observed that Whoever did that created the "operator error". That is what caused your issue. This is not a BRP issue.
