We bought the Firefox vanquish throat mic setups. The mic and earpieces are good. the application can be a bit of a challenge. i think (don't have them, so I'm not sure) they work great out of box with Motorola radios. We started with nice midland radios, and they don't work with them. after calls to midland and Firefox, apparently, midland won't let firefox know anything about their radios, so they (FF) cant make a proper adapter. Everyone else is happy to talk to FF.
We then bought Garmin Rino's. nice product. Turns out, the plug from the FF unit is a tad too long, but, the 'cobra 1-pin' adapter is supposed to solve that issue. - I'll let you know when they show up, I just ordered them today.
All in all, I think they have a good product. Nice fit, good sound quality. But.... here in Western WA, nobody (even REI) seems to know anything about anything with them. You have to call FF directly. I've had difficulty getting a hold of them, but once I did, they are very nice to deal with.
I'd recommend the FF product so far. I think the source of my frustration is that I wanted them to work with a Midland product that we already had. If I recall, Midland is the only radio mfgr. that does not work with their unit. When I talked to them today, he mentioned that Cabella's is one of their bigger retailers, but I did not call them to see if they could help me troubleshoot our issues.
When the adapters arrive, I'll check the post again, and update you with what I find.
Feel free to PM me if you have any other q's.
