Textron is shaking things up. If the November release is a new mountain sled its exactly what Cat needs. From the picture it looks like a new mountain sled built off the race platform, if that's the case they need to get demo units into dealers hands first part of the year. Love it or hate it Textron is trying new things.
The track is not a powerclaw.

I hope that it is the 2021 RIOT X, a real bad ass 146" 50/50 crossover sled! 38" front end, 2.5" lugs and qs3r shocks ?

I think this was a bad move they should have atleast let the 2020’s hit the snow before they dated them.
Why? All the 2020s are sold. Should have no impact. You know the definition of insanity, right? If you want to drive results you can’t keep doing the same old thing and expect different results. As much as people scream for a new “ chassis” every year that is not practical, unless you want to start spending $30k on a new sled every year. Chassis wise, Cat does exactly what the other two are doing. Small refinements on the same ole “chassis” and slap a new name on it.
This is exactly what cat needed to do. If they are going to continue to do snow check only, the sooner they get the word out, the longer they give the consumer time to make a decision. There is no rule that says you have to release in Feb.

They have everything they need to make a phenomenal sled which to me would have an alpha track, elevated platform, redesigned intake, twin rails. Can't fathom why they don't offer both single and twin rail options....especially in a pre-season snow check arrangement. I loved the alpha but not sure it's what I want to own v.s. an elevated twin rail. More options would seem to sell more sleds.

I agree with chewy 22. Cat needs to shake things up a bit and I think/hope that's what they are doing. You get all these people saying it's the same chassis from 2012 and they need a 850 has obviously never rode a 18 or newer. I agree on a twin rail option aswell so hopefully they are listening to the customers. I have a turboed 19 alpha that I really enjoy, but I also picked up a 2020 axys cause i wanted a twin rail option aswell. Time will tell with cat, fortunately we wont have to wait to terrible long to find out?
