Im fairly certain they are all made by tekvest under different names, they make brand ones as well. and the shape of the klim one is a HAIR different it seems from the pictures.. but other then that, virtually identical it seems.
Yeah, paging back and forth between the Klim & tekvest Freestyle it looks like the Klim has a shorter back shield. The description on the klim also says it uses the sx pro-lite pads i.e. Smaller/less bulky vest.
Has anyone had the opportunity to try these both and have input?
In my opinion the Klim TekVest which is made for Klim by TekVest is the venting built into the protection plates. Also I think the Klim is cut for more aggressive mountain riding than the TekVest models. I like the way the Klim feels compared to the TekVest I use to own.
I had a tek vest a few years ago that I would get way too hot in. I replaced it with the klim. It has holes or venting in it. I wear them under my coat. That was the big difference for me. I don't know about the newer models.
I have the Klim TekVest. It has the TekVest logo on the inner tag, and it has the Tekrider website in there too. So I'm guessing TekVest makes it, Klim puts their logo on it. If that makes any sense at all.
I just got off the phone with Tekrider and the difference between the Klim Freestyle Tekvest and the Tekrider Freestyle is the size of vent holes....that's it!
Tekrider does the manufacturing for the Arctic Cat and Klim Tekvests...they are simply rebranded as AC or Klim.
