Does anyone know how to ensure the correct amount of chaincase oil is in a 1967 Super Alpine 370cc sled? I have removed the large rubber cover at the top sprocket and I can see oil on the chain as I rotate the clutch,,, but how do I know the quantity is correct? Thanks

Take a stiff wire longer than crank case is deep, stick it in hole with rubber plug working it down along side of chain until it is at bottom of case, pull it out and read it like a dipstick. You only need enough oil to cover bottom of chain, maybe two inches.
