Will the park be open to travel from West Yellowstone to Cooke? My sleds are in West and don't want to have to go all the way around . Guess I could check park website just to lazy.

Yes, we wait for this time of year so the park roads are open as well as the roads from Cody over to Cooke gets plowed the week before. Everything is wide open and easy for access.

I am going but may be flying solo so looking for people to ride a little with since it looks like snow will still be pretty good.

The reason for no tracks is because they raised their prices so high no one can afford to go for multiple days. And it is too far and a huge pain in the ass to go through the park for a one day ride. And it doesn't help that the bar tender tells me that he hates Sledder's.

If you get through the gate after hours do you still have to pay?

Does that work this time of the year like it does in the winter?

I honestly don't remeber what the status this time of year is. I get a yearly pass since we are up there usually at least 5 trips a winter so it just makese sense to not mess around with it.

Rode there Saturday to check snowpack for the event. Parked in the wide spots plowed on the highway by the lulu trail head. 2-4' of snow along the side of the roads.

Its been warm so it will be less for the event but should be everyone parking on the highway for the event.

I was last up in that area about three weeks ago: it was pretty good riding, but no powder to be found, even after some recent snow. It's been a pretty warm week around here too, so guarantee it'll be heavily crusted. On the other hand, like Scott and Wheel House are saying, no shortage of snow up there. Easily another month of spring riding left.
