So what's the consensus on the Dayco XTX belt

I'm riding at 2010 turbo M8 with a extra mag side torque stop. Clutches are clean and aligned and I'm still not getting good belt life. MDS weights and a 34/42 helix. Usually pulling a cord within the first two rides and completely wasting it after 400 miles. I'm running the 046 cat belt. Is the Dayco 5032 any better? My primary heat seems excessive but I'm new to cat. 10 lbs boost with a 3 inch 162.

krap choot

so problelm is you have not way to make proper secondary spring pressure adjustment, can't work, one in a million guess as to where you're at, stock secondary no adjust / no belt life/ no performance/ no way, realy lukcy to get it off the trailer, good for belt retailers, dayco dream, other wise dud deal.

hey you do have a turbo !

Belt life

Something can't be right, I have a 2011 m8 cutler stage 2 running 9-10 lbs boost, currently have around 700 miles on my 046 cat belt and still looks great.
Running 80-90 gram cutler adjustables set at 84 grams, cutler torsion secondary with 38-44 helix and orange spring.
Ride 4-7000 feet
I thought I read somewhere to run the stock helix or close to stock angle with the mds weights? Could be wrong, maybe try a shallower helix angle? Just a thought.

What kind of rpms are you pulling with your 84s? I may not have enough weight. I'm only running 80s but my rpms seem to be 8200ish. I put a mark on my primary and there's only about a 1/2 left. Same riding elevation.

something must be out of whack, I run a 2010 at 10-11 psi with d&d mag weights at 84.6gr , team 158-290 spring, 36-46 p bdx helix stock secondary spring, what primary spring are you using? don't have mag mount so can't say if that is helping you or causing problems.

140/310. I'm leaning towards not enough weight. I'll call MDS tomorrow. It's kinda tough reading the tach at mach 10. I thought MDS typically ran a little more weight than standard and you guys are at 84?

Oh and it's the big turbo, 2876.

Rpm's

Pulling 81-8200 rpm on hard pulls. Running a 120-320 primary spring. Don't have any extra motor mounts.

Should be able to run more weight in those mds weights. Had a set in my stock 2010 m8 and was running 74grams to pull 8200 rpm. Stock cat weights where 68 grams.

miles

We're all getting between 800 to 1200 miles on our 2010-2011 TM8's with the 046. You must have issues. Clutch hanging up or something.....Venting?

Dayco belts don't last as long as stock.. not my opinion... its fact. I used to sell them and I've never seen so many return in my life.. all models had lower belt life then stock.. Just go get a stock belt and your life will improve.. 100% guranteed..

I 100% disagree with this statement on my tm1000 @12lbs at 10k ft. Maybe some other machines don't do well with the XTX belts or something. I get at least twice the miles out of the XTX over factory cat ones. Polarisrocks on here will say the same thing for sure, just talked with him the other week on the phone and he said the XTX is the only belt he can get to hold on his tm1000. Even on the new 1100t the factory ones are popping like crazy, put the XTX on that machine and it lasts. Break in is very crucial on any belt, maybe some people are putting a new belt on and just holding it tapped right away?

After eating a belt every ride I finally bought the dayco and did the wash with soap and water and let dry and break it in and its done better than the 060 and the 046.. 5 rides so far.. and it it hasn't even pulled a string. GOOD BELT is my vote

Running them for 3 yrs on my TM1000s, every time I have blown one of these I look for other issues, rollers, weights, mounts etc, and usually find the source of the problem. Send the belt to Dayco and for about 25$ in shipping I get a new one. Great belts.

IMO their warranty is enough of a reason to buy their belt right there, send 15$ with a blown belt or even just one damaged and ready to blow and you will get a new belt. Its a nice way to always have 2 spare belts around. Blow one, throw your spare on, buy a new belt, and use that as a spare, then in around 2 weeks you get a new belt in the mail and you should always have at least one spare belt laying around assuming you can last 2 weeks without blowing a belt!

Now if they would only make them for the Proclimb. good thing they didn't last year or just the Snowesters would have bankrupted them.

Everything clutching wise looks perfect so I bought one. I'll let you know my results.

I agree that dayco suck but try a GATES belt and see if you still think stock is better.:D

My opinion, get rid of that stupid multi angle helix and try a straight 40 or even a 36.

Update: Somebody on the forum (can't remember who) asked me which side of the belt I was pulling cords. I checked some old belts and it was consistently the outer edge. He told me the secondary needs to come in then. Despite what my alignment tool said I pulled all the shims on the Diamond Drive shaft. Sure enough, 800 miles later the belt looks great. I have been running the Dayco belt but I believe the alignment was the issue. So thanks to who ever that was, maybe PolarisRocks???

p.s. And for the money I think the Dayco XTX is a killer belt. Especially for $70.

The xtx is by far the best belt out there for the M chassis with a turbo. It lasts 3-5 times longer than any 46 or 60 belt I tried.

Glad the alignment tip helped.. It was lots of 60 belts that I figured out how to make the sting change sides or go away. The alignment has to be different for the turbo guys.
