SHORT STORY ... GO ride WED morning AFTER storm cycle.

maybe 2-4 feet 8k feet above.

Long story ... High pressure ridge off SOCAL left last week and 4 low pressure systems replaced the evil high pressure ridge.

one low offshore near WA BC border

one off Oregon

one off San Francisco

One in Baja

All spinning counterclockwise drawing down cold air from jet stream and 3 areas of moisture from south Hawaii AKA Pineapple Express Also from off Aleutians , southern Baja.

Tail end of storm ends TuesdaY NIGHT BRINGING MOST SNOW.

Right now storm split where up near Susanville then lighter and heavy around Levitt Lake south into Tulare / kings cyn.

Today computer runs say best around mammoth.

IMHO find it hard to understand Tahoe area get less than Susanville and Mammoth BUT hell anything will do.

Remember not much storms yet so this prediction could fall apart in hours ... not days. So seeing is believing.

Computers predicting weather storms every 10 days as long as high pressure ridge stays away.

Pray for snow

It's looking warmer and wetter than the forecast from a few days ago. Hopefully next week delivers more.

Storm is turning south at least 150 miles

STORM IS MOVING SOUTH. EPICENTER IS VENTURA /SANTA BARBARA COUNTY 7-9 inches ... so GORMAN mountains gonna get lots of snow.

THIS is where the 300,000 acres burned .... gonna be some big mud slides heading to the beach. PCH HWY between Ventura and north of Santa Barbara gone have a mudfest.

As far as riding no groomed trails and too many inexperienced people from LA who will jam up the mountain roads for many many hours, that is if the mud doesn't wash out the roads.

Mammoth guy says l model simulations have a track of the upper low moving west to east between Santa Barbara and Lax. This is further south than predictions Saturday. Main focus of forcing will be Southern Sierra with extension north to about Mammoth. Heaviest Precipitation will be coastal mountains of Ventura Co and eastward with local amounts 7 to 9 inches of water.

Mammoth Mt stands to receive 3 to 4 feet over the crest with 18 to 30 inches in town above 8000 feet by Tuesday night. 15 to 24 inches at 7500. Expect a fair weekend with high pressure aloft.
