better built than what? If you mean better built than an exact deck then you have obviously never used one. If they are built heavier then they are just that.....HEAVY. I have worked at my share of fab shops including Exact and have had the pleasure (or displeasure in some cases) of using most brands of sled deck available and I believe Exact to be the strongest and best built aluminum decks pound for pound there is. I don't work there any more so I have no reason to endorse their products other than to guide people to a product I believe in. I used the same basic design to build my own personal deck and I love it. (It's not the one in my avatar)

Never noticed at first, but really like the checker plate in middle of ramp, gives your buddy a place to stand when pulling sled off so you don't have to worry about your leg falling thru hole and getting run over or busted

Thanks for all the responses. I bought a beaver tail from Silver Lake MFG. It looks like its made well and the price was fair.

Does Exact build decks with sides that slide ? The deck looks good, I like the headache rack with mess and just bars in middle so you can see out the back, and the lights. I have a STF out of Sylvan Lake AB, good design but it's very light, time will tell on durability, It survived one year working in the bush north of Ft. Nelson BC on crappy roads, so far so good. The deck also has a custum aluminum 40 gal tank under it, with a fill cap between the skis, and also the sides slide in. I had them build it shorter so it's easy to get into tailgate, and then use the extensions for hauling long track sleds, this actually works well for an all season deck, ATV's and Sleds.
