The thing is awesome. Nicely built and on the scale after 2 rides it is 4.5# lighter than my water logged stock seat. It makes a huge difference jumping back and forth!
They claim "1.5 lower and narrower but man it sure seems like a lot more. After 2 rides I didn't once hit it with my feet. I think it's worth the price. Seems like once or twice a day I was finding myself getting hung up on the stock seat.
Seems completely unnecessary unless you have short legs. If you want a lower seat, take the stock one, pull all the staples out, trim the foam down and re-stretch the cover and staple in place with 50 new SS staples. Cost is about $3 and takes 30 minutes.
I am 6'1" and have one on my axys. I think they are awesome. If you are going to sit and bunch, I wouldn't get one. The 850 is the same as the axys. If you stand on the sled and lift your foot, my knee hits the seat. Put the Skinz seat on and it misses. If you see value in that, buy it. If you don't, then don't.
