Why do some hoods look like this with the nose vent and upper vent lookng different?

What is the actual weight difference between this and the stock hood?

Just checked mine and it was 3.5 lbs lighter then stock. Probably close to a stock hood with a headlight delete kit.

I was told 3lbs by Skinz, hood for hood. User below got 3.5lbs savings. The hoods are nice with muffpot opening.

what about heat retention? the stock hood is nice and vented. the skinz has a little bit of venting but nothing close to the stock hood.Anybody notice hotter temps with skinz?

107 going down the trail with scratchers all day and I don't run a snow flap. Pretty sure the Skinz let's even more air in...

Thnx chadly, but i had meant underhood temps..like hotter clutchs due to more radiant heat ,engine coolant temps are only affected by the amount of cooling to the exchangers.

Honestly never worried about it, i geared down my axys and just ran it mostly, i was on my 3rd belt at 2200 miles. And thats just because i throw on a new one at the beginning of each year.
