What is everyone's thoughts of this? After a discount from the dealer, this bumper is priced competitively with aftermarket bumpers. My dealer doesn't have one, so it's hard to judge the quality just by looking at it in the book

It is a little heavy:face-icon-small-dis Heavy enough to make the parts guy coment on it,never weight it but 10Pounds including hardware is my guess VS about 2.5 for a very stout diamond S bumper on my old sled. I am waiting for the aftermarket bumpers or build my own.

I installed the Ski-Doo HD cast bumper on my sled. I'd been holding off because of the weight. I've used a couple other aftermarket bumpers in the past that were much lighter. I will say this though. This is the best fit and finish and most stout one I've ever used. I had a much lighter weight Skinz on my XM that bent a couple times...sled likes to ghost ride sometimes. I don't see that ever being an issue with this bumper. So, the added weight could potentially be worth it.

As far as the install goes this thing was a much more in depth install than any other bumper I'v seen. One thing I couldn't find in the instructions is that you have to drill two holes on each side of the cast bulk head to fasten the inside backing plates (first picture). Other than that it's just a matter of figuring out what nut and bolt goes where. Overall I'm very happy with the quallity and design. It also fits perfectly with the skid plate. Will report back on durability after it's hit some trees.:)

That bumper makes me feel strongly like it is no longer a fail point before the bulkhead =/

im no engineer, but those little bolts holding it onto the bulk head look like they'd sheer before any real damage was done....

the burly bumper

Thanks for posting install pics.

I love mine, and will probably put one on the backup sled, too.

It should provide additional protection for the pipe and it wraps completely around the nose cone. 2 things the stocker bumper lacks.

The vertical rib ties into the lower a-arms, similar to other aftermarket designs out there.

Its worth its weight....:eyebrows:
