Ski Guides in 8.5 non-deckover

I am curious how people are routing their ski guides in car haulers. I know some are going over the wheel wells but that's not an option for me. Nor is chewing up the deck. Can you route the skis around the wheel wells?

Im going to move the outside ones in about 8 inches to be just on the inside of the wheel wheels. I will say i prefer the race deck tiles way more from a looks and use prospective. My trailer is a 24ft v nose tri sport model
