Well..........

Just traded my Super Duty for a new Platinum, Super Duty Tremor package, with a 7.3.

I've only got about 300 miles but so far I really like it.

Upgraded wheels and tires / 20" Fuel Wheels and Toyo RT's
Tonneau cover
Bedrug
Custom white Ford logos
Tinted windows
Chrome rocker panels
Husky mud flaps
Custom step lighting
Next up is some kind of LED lighting (light bar or something for the front)

2014 F-150 FX4 5.0 with some aesthetic touches. Wheels/tires, Fox 2.0 leveling kit, nerf bars (not pictured), grill, color matched badges, tinted windows. Has a 5 star performance tune in it and Borla exhaust.

Bought brand new in '14. Love everything about it. I do wish I would have sought out 3.73 gears instead of the 3.55's. Didn't want to special order one, though. Only thing I'd for sure change, going back, is to add some sort of vinyl protection to prevent rock chips. At almost 105,000 miles now, that ship has sailed.

Of course, a Whipple supercharger or the likes would be nice too...but that's not in the budget. :cautious:

Bought Powerstroke New in 05. Yeah Id like a new one, but this truck still doesnt want to die. Sled deck opens up , winch front and rear. I have it dialed just for sledding and pulling toy hauler. Stock motor.FAA850B5-FD4F-44FD-8401-9204C52F5E1F.JPG

Probably going down the road next week.

So what's the story with selling? PM with details, I've been slowing looking around for a different run-a-round truck.

My buddy owns the local Chevy dealership and is a good customer as well.
He said he needed used trucks, so I cleaned my stuff out and let him take it.
He's got a LTZ coming in that I think I'll take.
His cell is 605 237 2704 "Loren"

2017 F-450 Platinum Ultimate. Bought it used just over a year ago with 113K miles on it. Has 125K now.

Things it has I would definitely get on another truck:
-Heated/cooled seats
-Heated steering wheel
-LED headlights
-Sync system
-360 cameras
-Power fold running boards. They drop down lower than solid boards and don't get ice built up on them.
-Power extend and fold mirrors.
-LED box lights
-Factory installed gooseneck hitch
-Tailgate step. Used to think this was a gimmick until I got a truck with one. These new superduty trucks are so tall I use it every time I'm getting in and out of the bed.

Things I could live without on the next truck:
-Sunroof. Take up headroom in the cab, they break if you don't use them frequently, and they are expensive to fix.
-Adaptive cruise control. Slows you down when behind another vehicle and sometimes you don't notice. Limits bumper, grill guard, and aftermarket lighting choices.
-Auto-dim headlights
-Auto wipers
-Massaging seats. They are kind of nice when you've been in the truck for a few hours on end, but not life changing.
-FX4 package. Shocks are not a big improvement, haven't used hill decent control, and you don't get the locking differential in the F-450 with the package. Skid plates can be added separately on the build for just over $100.

Things I've replaced/upgraded:
-Added AVS low profile side window visors (not pictured).
-Husky X-act floor mats
-Fox 2.0 shocks
-Added Rigid light bar
-Replaced rear transfer case seal
-Replaced broken headlight housing (was cracked when I bought it)
-Replaced plastic cover on tailgate step
-Replaced intake temp sensor.

Things I love:
-Power
-Stability empty or towing. The wind doesn't push a truck like this around.
-Sharp turning radius of the wide track front end.
-Braking performance
-Overall look of the truck
-How quiet the cab is.

Things that need improvement:
-Parts are expensive. Headlight housing and balast is $1800 MSRP and the plastic cover kit for the tailgate step was $190. New gooseneck ball is a couple hundred bucks.
-Gooseneck ball release mechanism. Mine is stuck and I cant get the factory ball out without destroying it.
-This thing should be available with more rear end gear options than just 4:30s. It takes a good grade to even make it shift down from 6th to 5th towing a trailer and it would improve the poor empty mileage. The 2020+ trucks with the 10 speed automatics are reportedly better though with the extra overdrive gears.IMG_20200802_170052.jpgIMG_20200802_170139.jpgIMG_20200802_170423.jpgSnapchat-822487261.jpgIMG_20200208_145211.jpgIMG_20200208_150858.jpg

1979 F-150 Explorer (the toy). 400 engine with automatic transmission and 112K miles. Has Camper Special badges, but no literature suggests that ford ever offered that package in a F-150. One of the previous owners had a camper in it at one time so maybe they put the badges on themselves. If it's not a camper special it has the available handling package with dual front shocks and swaybar up front. I drive it in the spring and fall when the weather is nice. Rear main seal is leaking and a common cause of that in the 400s was worn main bearings. Have a lead on a 460 engine so it might just get a swap. Carb was rebuilt when I got the truck, but I think it's worn out beyond repair. Holley Sniper Fuel injection is on the list to replace it. Should work with the 460 swap as well.

2003 F-150 XLT Flareside (the daily driver). 5.4L engine and automatic. Bought it in 2007 with 193K miles on it. Currently has 325K. Replaced a few sets of plugs, coil packs, alternator twice, brakes, rear end, and rebuilt the heads at 260K when a head gasket started leaking. Comfortable to drive and has too many miles on it to be worth much to anyone else so I use it most days to keep commuter miles off of the F-450.

I like the captains chairs and center console in it. Very comfortable for me to drive at 6'-2" with plenty of head and leg room. Not as fast and doesn't have the features of the new rigs, but it just keeps on trucking.

Stepside bed looks cool, but limits cargo space severely. Has 3:55 gears but the 3:73 option would have been better for towing. Especially with the 33" tires I have on it. Changing plugs or doing any work on the engine is not fun since everything is packed tight and the back part of the engine is under the firewall. Could have pulled the engine in the time I spent trying to get the heads off with less frustration.

7.3L Gasser
AirLift LoadLifter 7500XL with onboard compressor

All i can say is; for a stock gasser, this thing is a beast. No problem towing my GN Logan HP from Maryland to Wyoming. Set the cruise and it'll maintain your speed; even up those long grades of elevation. Here are some pics if you're interested.
