Where is bear lake

'Bear Lake' is actually SW of Montpelier, ID. The Bear Lake hillclimb is located just passed Geneva, ID as you cross the border into WY. Or, about 35 minutes from Afton, WY if you are coming from that way. Stop by and check it out if you're not busy this weekend. Should be some good racing going on. Admission is probably going to be $5/person. Not sure if that goes away if you are racing the Locals class.

It is a great hill for those that just want to give it a try. So come out we need as many as we can get to keep the sport alive.

Definitely!! ^^^ If the info on the site is correct, our numbers are dwindling fast this year. On a lighter note, I did see almost a dozen new names in the Semi-Pro ranks for this race.

Everybody spread the word about this weekend. As tough as this year has been already, the circuit needs all the support it can get.

I would say this is the best hill on the circuit if you want to give it a try. The amateur class rules are really relaxed. All that you will need is:

1. A sled. (bring what ever you have)
2. Protective gear. (Helmet, Chest protector)
3. A tether switch on your sled.

You can enter the day of the race. So come and try it!

And bring your kids up for the 120 race if you have one. Details are limited, but it will be held Saturday afternoon probably around the same time as locals.

Race is finished and it was an awesome weekend overall. Snow wasn't the greatest, but I think the course held up great. There were a lot of good runs, a few good crashes, and a great group of people gathered there for the first race of the season. Here's a vid to give you a decent look at the hill. You can also follow some of the links for some pictures.

Who ever manages the results section of the RMSHA site needs to be kicked in the nuttzz. It always takes weeks to get the results posted and then they are usually wrong for another week.

There is some kind of difficulty with getting the site to work properly. It was completely rebuilt last year in an effort to be more user friendly, but I think a lot of the programming wasn't completely understood.

Feel free to ping a RMSHA staff member if you think you could provide useful info to help get the site running better.
