Best riding around there is Cumbres Pass. It's on the Colorado/New Mexico border. We're up there almost every weekend. It's a couple hours drive from Abq but it's well worth the drive. Awesome riding. It's got everthing from mild to wild. Just depends an what you are looking for. Hook up with the New Mexico Wild Bunch sometime. Although they tend to lean a little more to the wild side of things. All great guys though.

There is some riding over near Red River NM too but I don't know much about that area. Never ridden it myslef.

Cumbres Pass is where it's at. N out of Chama about 30min. Park where everyone else does and take off. There's a nice lodge/restaurant up there, had new owners a couple yrs ago, not sure now. Great place to get a meal during or after riding. It's right by the rental shop, top of Cumbres pass.
Hopewell Lake area is nice too, not quite the snow as Cumbres, but just S of it. You can actually ride all teh way between the 2 areas. This is about 30 min S/E of Chama. Go up to Hwy 64 iether form the TA side or Chama side. They close the hiway in the winter, so just drive up until the plows stop and take off from there.
Rode around Red River one day. With good snow, there's lots of play areas. Neat town to stay in too. W marginal snow, I'd pass Red River and go straight to Cumbres.
