Recommended places to stay/ride near Revelstoke??

A group of us are looking at going out to Revelstoke around mid December from Central Montana. Wondering where the best and most reasonable places to stay would be. About 5 of us thinking about heading up, one rig with a 29ft. enclosed trailer, so adequate parking would be nice as well.

None of us have been there so any help would be great, also if we do make it someone to show us around would be Awesome! All of us can hold our own when riding, not looking for the steep just the deep.

hotels in Revy

We've stayed at the Sandman a few times. They have a pool a hot tub. The restaurant is pretty good for breakfast. Probably not the cheapest but a nice place to stay

Sounds like quite the rig you're bringing, it makes logistics a challenge sometimes. It'd be more helpful it you're specific about your riding group's abilities and preferences. Do you and your group prefer riding in big alpine meadows or in the trees? The weather here, especially in early season can be pretty hostile(it has to snow some time). Tree riders tend to get more out of a trip to Revy early in the season unless you happen to catch some sunny days.

Really willing to take whatever we can get while we were there. That being said it's a 12 hour drive for us, so if weather forces us to stay in the trees, that be alright. 3 out of the 5 of us I can say are comfortable riding in the trees. The other 2 can do it, just not their cup of tea, they'd rather ride the open meadows.

List of sleds that we'd bring to ride are a '17 850X 165", '12 PRO 163", '14 PRO 163", '13 XM 163", and a '09 XP 154".

First things first. If you bring a 29ft enclosed trailer up you will be parking at the 2km parking on boulder and and probably the 3km at frisby. Any more and you will end up with your trailer in the ditch, blocking the road and wrecking everyone else's day. Then you will ride mud to about 5-6km mark at least on each trail right now. Which is fine you just need to be prepared for that. Right now blue bird days are far and few in between, most days are very socked in and you need to know where you are going. I recommend a guide if you have never been. If you are going to ride the trees know where you are going. Both areas have unexpected drop offs and creeks that can turn a pow day into a bad day quick with inexperienced riders.

Any updates on putting in the trails and grooming? Got two 28 foot trailers on our way up from Idaho on the 12th and am really hoping we don't have to ride miles of mud.
Sled Club website has no new info so Im assuming they are not grooming yet but was hoping to get a first hand acct.

Ttt. Is it a 3 mile ride through the mud to get up to some snow on the trails?
Not much in the way of the forecast before we show up so I guess it really doesn't matter at this point.
Anyone out there interested in providing a little guiding service?
We are a group of 4 showing up on the 12th. Then got three more coming on Wednesday.
Staying til 19th.
Hoping to get a little show and tell first day or two.
We can ride.
