My EcoBoost looks impressive on the screen until it's trailer time. Curious to see how yours does.
I have had a 2012 and a 2017 F150 ecoboost with 20,000+ miles of towing. I am curious to what you feel the short comings are. Also how long and heavy of a trailer do you tow?

On the highway, in cruise, at 65 I am getting a solid 25mpg.
Not a clue what towing will be yet.
give me a bit to get the engine past the 1,000 mile mark before I borrow a big trailer and do some towing tests on her.
you get the ECO or the BOOST ... you dont get both.
I think this sums it up perfectly. Tows wonderful with lots of power.........Just no Eco great MPG's. LOL, But I knew that going into it. But man when it's empty and the cruise is set it sure turns some impressive numbers then.
I bought the new Hybrid, POWER-BOOST.
Its the best of both worlds
430 horsepower and 570 lb.-ft. of torque
What we mean is you either get great MPG's or lots of power. But you don't get great MPG's while using lots of power (ie towing). LOL
But I suspect this truck is going to deliver a fair amount of BOTH..

so, with less than 1000 miles on the new truck, I am getting a solid 20MPG + in MOUNTAIN driving.
That last entry was for a trip from Idaho Falls to Jackson Wyoming and back followed by another trip to Afton Wyoming and back.
Both of which had serious elevation changes and mountain driving.
Will pick up a new Hitch this week and should be ready for trailering shortly.

But the higher the obtain you feed it, the higher the boost it will develop.

I would be very reluctant to trust that in winter driving conditions or while towing. Dry summer road trips might be ok. But I have trust issues with letting someone else even change my oil so...
