2011 Polaris Pro and I'm installing a Arctic Cat 900 motor because Imy sick and tired of owning a polaris powered sled!! My pro has 2000 miles and and it's had 2 rebuilds. Polaris has the mato ( Polaris the way out ) The mato on this build is (Arctic Cat motor The way back home)

1ST thing is the weight difference in the motors. Both motors weighted with clutch, Y pipe and carbs/throttle bodys and the 900 Is 9.8 pounds heavier but with the oil delete on the 900 I saved 8lbs, and with the fuel pump and huge wiring harness for moved 3.5 and with the air box removed another 6 pounds . So total the 900 should be 7 pounds lighter.

I will try to post some pictures soon

sub'd. Just ordered a bulkhead off ebay.

My BD race sled lived with dumb amounts of boost my fuel mixing experiments + learning curve. Ran it 600 ish miles n/a after a rock fubar'd my chassis. Now she needs a rebuild. First pro engine lost a rod bearing and windowed the mag side of the case (tig welding project).

I have a 700 non ves liberty with twin slp pipes. Fresh rebuild. Thinking i might cobble a back up together. Interested to see how your build goes and good luck.

900 pro

Now its a true sled with a motor that will last and get me out of the mountains. Now it's what it should have been from the factory [ RELIABLE ]
But I don't think that word is in polaris vocabulary

I finally got to ride my buddies 975 cat pro hybrid.

I was impressed. There's a bit of tuning to do still, but it handed very well and pulled hard on top. Have some video, but don't know how good it is yet.

Sweet!! I just talked to Mike today about his sled.
I got the exhaust mocked up today and a push mount to hkeep the motor from twisting. Now I need a wire schematic for both the pro and the cat.

Here's the 900 engine wiring.

And the chassis:

I got more done this week, exhaust is all mocked up, modified the 900 SLP can. Electrical is 75% done. Should have it on the snow by the end of week.
He is a picture of the sled with my timbersled rear suspension and AXYS spindles installed.

Project 900 Pro is done had it on the snow today and all I can say is WOW!
The only problem I have with it is because the 900 motor sat for 2 years the carburetors are loading up, Evan when it's just sitting not running it starts to smell like gas. I took the carbs a part and they look like new inside. I don't know if the float needle in the carb is bad or the float it's self. Any thoughts?

Looks good!

Sounds like it could be needle/seat or float related but considering you bred the 900 into Pro chassis, figuring it out should be a walk in the park.

Check your choke plungers too. Those can cause that. If it's filling the crankcase with gas when not running, can be a broken diaphragm in the fuel pump.

Its more than likely the orings that sit inside on the needle/seat assembly. Take off the two screws that hold in the plastic float assembly and put in new orings.
