Primary Rebuild Success? Clutch compatibility?

Who has had to rebuild their primary on their Axys 800? How did it hold up afterwards? I have a bad roller and wondering about aftermarket vs OEM rebuild parts. Im also wondering if a Axys 600 clutch would work for the 800. I was told that it has different bushings.

600 is the same clutch other than the outer cover and outer cover bushing. Basically the 800 does the wider outer bushing.

I've been rebuilding primarys for years, your typical run hard Axys Primary will need rollers every 900 - 1000 miles, and new weight bushings every 800 or so. The problem with rebuilding clutches these days is the cost of the kit, a few years ago you could find rebuild kits for $80, now an OEM kit (only way to go) will run $160. Most folks will want at least $150 for the rebuild putting you just under the price of a good takeoff. Provided you have the equipment and know how to properly rebuild your primary it will last another 1,000 miles, good as new.
